Directions by road:

From Ayrshire and the south:

  1. Travel north on M77 and exit at junction 3 (East Kilbride / Paisley)
NOTE:This is NOT the new Motorway to EK but the next junction
  2. You will encounter a roundabout controlled by traffic lights - be in right lane
  3. Turn right and down towards the A727* (East Kilbride /Paisley Road) stay in right lane
  4. Turn right in direction of East Kilbride and pass under the M77 motorway
  5. After about one half mile you encounter the Speirsbridge roundabout - carry straight on
  6. After about 800 yards you will encounter a controlled junction - be in right lane
  7. Turn right into Davieland Road and main park entrance will be about 300 yards on right
  8. There is usually ample on-street parking as road is wide
*There may now be a little confusion where reference is made to the A726 due to the construction of the new road to / from East Kilbride. I understand that the old A726 has been renamed A727!

From the East (north of the river) and North:

  1. Travel west on M8 over Kingston Bridge (River Clyde)
  2. About 800 yards after bridge, exit M8 on to the M77 (Kilmarnock / Prestwick Airport)
  3. Exit M77 at junction 3 (East Kilbride / Paisley) and take the left lane joining the A726 in the East Kilbride direction
  4. Now follow directions from number 5 above

From the West (Greenock / Glasgow Airport):

This may appear complicated and there are several ways of doing it! This is one way and probably the best if you don't know the area.

  1. Stay east-bound on M8 as if heading to Glasgow and take Tradeston / Kinning Park / M74 exit.
  2. Take Kinning Park exit and take the right lane of the exit ramp.
  3. You will now be travelling under the M8 motorway
  4. Rejoin M8 travelling in the opposite direction
  5. Stay on the left as you want to exit on to the M77 south (Kilmarnock / Prestwick Airport)
  6. Exit M77 at junction 3 (East Kilbride / Paisley) and take the left lane joining the A726 in the East Kilbride direction
  7. Now follow directions from number 5 above

Safe driving and enjoy your trip!

By public transport:

From Glasgow Central, take the Neilston bound train as far as Whitecraigs, which is right on the doorstep of the park.

The 38 / 38A (Woodfarm) First Bus appears to be the only real alternative to the train from the city.
