This man made pond whose islands were built like a wall from large stones was opened in 1924. It is clear that a tremendous amount of work was put
into its construction.

The pond remains a great attraction to young and old alike. The pedal boats remain popular with children
allowing them to see the swans and cygnets nesting on the islands. |

On certain evenings in the past, a very impressive display of model boats could be seen on the pond
whose speed and direction were contolled by enthusiasts along the banks with their radio control boxes
